Omnidirectional Dual-Polarized Low-Profile Textile Rectenna With Over 50% Efficiency for Sub-<i>?</i>W/cm<sup>2</sup> Wearable Power Harvesting

Despite the recent advances in textile antennas, complete systems such as a rectenna, efficiency of fully solutions has been over 46% lower than hybrid textile/rigid implementations. This article presents rectenna for ultralow-power sub- $\mu \text{W}$ /cm2 applications. A dual-polarized omnidirectional low-profile antenna is presented. The based on compact inductively matched rectifier. textile-based rectifier occupies 0.22 cm2 and achieves state-of-the-art power conversion (PCE) 41.8% at ?20 dBm, 820 MHz, despite its lossy substrate. triple-band then designed fabricated to show scalability matching approach. characterized using new figure merit “average PCE” time period while charging capacitor. Time-varying S-parameters are used quantify impact capacitor’s charge impedance matching. directly charges 1.32 mF capacitor up 1 V 0.41 4.5 s from 10 0 respectively. Wireless testing proposed demonstrates 50% 40% below $1~\mu space on-body, efficiently receives mismatched polarization with 360° half-power beamwidth.
